Prague is one of 397 cities worldwide that is participating in PechaKucha, a night of fast-paced design presentations mixed with lots of beer. Presenters include a wide range of creative professionals, from architects to fashion magazine editors and designers. PechaKucha Night (PKN) began in Tokyo in 2003, and has since morphed into a global happening.

The name is derived from the Japanese term for the sound of chit chat, and it is famous for featuring presentations in a "20×20" format, meaning each of a dozen or so designers shows 20 images for 20 seconds a piece. This year the event will be hosted in three cities in the Czech Republic: Prague, Ostrava, and Brno. The first PKN in Prague was held Feb. 20, 2007, and featured 14 presenters. Since that time Prague has held the event every other month at Kino Aero in the Zizkov district. The events always sell out weeks in advance.

Walking into a second hand clothing store in Prague is like going on a treasure hunt. Like other major capitals, Prague has a wide variety of second-hand outlets. You can find almost anything here, from retro wedding dresses to antique accessories, it all depends on your interests. Before 1989, the selection was poor because under communism clothes were viewed as functional objects that simply had to last as long as possible, if necessary held together with the help of staples or strings.

This meant that the concept of second-hand clothing didn't really exist at this time. Since then many interesting shops have opened, such as Kudy Tudy (Saska 10), which specializes in Retro/Vintage fashion. Its former name, Myrnyx Tyrnyx, may be familiar to Prague veterans because it was the first second-hand clothing store to open in the city in 1996.
