Expo 2010 in Shanghai features a Czech design pavilion, according to the Czech fashion magazine Vivrant. The pavilion highlights five leading Czech designers who all created their interpretation of the topic of "Memory", creating collections of ten designs each that were modeled at the pavilion. Designer Libena Rochova combines components of regional folk costumes with contemporary design, using some materials and manufacturing methods that are over a hundred years old in her collection.
Designer Denisa Nova's collection is based on intimate undergarments from various historical periods over which she layers iconic items of clothing, including turtlenecks, trousers, white shirts, and cocktail dresses. Designer Pavel Ivancic focused on cultural and social influences on a person's identity in his collection that used softened and hardened materials from the 1980s in nontraditional ways.
